Ball Valve – KHD-FSB22, KHD-FSB23, KHD-FSB26

With precision-machined fire safe lip and grahite sealing, these API 607, ISO 10497 Fire Safe approved ball valves offer increased safety for the most demanding applications.

Two-piece ball valves are among the most commonly used ball valves.
As the name implies, a two-piece ball valve consists of two pieces, one with an end connection and the body.
The second piece fits into the first, holds the trim in place, and houses the second end connection.

Threaded ball valves contain internal and external threads to facilitate inlet and outlet connections.

Fire safe ball valves are designed to minimize fugitive emissions and downstream leakage when exposed to high temperatures during fires.
They differ from other industrial ball valves by remaining operable, or at least failing in a predictable manner, when exposed to high temperatures.

KHD-FSB22 ball valve
2000 PSI (138 bar)
ISO regular-mount

The ISO regular-mounting pad accepts direct mounting of pneumatic and electric actuators.
ISO 5211 is a European standard that specifies requirements for the attachment of part-turn actuators, with or without gearboxes, to industrial valves.

Full port ball valve
¼" - 4" (DN8 ~ DN100)

Certifications

  • API 607 Fire Test or Soft Seated
    Quarter Turn Valves
  • Canadian Registration Number
  • ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
    Explosive Prevention
  • SIL3 Capable
    Please inquire

Standards

  • Valve body and end cap connections are high quality investment casting. Stainless steel material and carbon steel can be solution annealed and normalized upon requests. Valve stems are blow-out proof for maximum safety. All valves are factory tested to API 598 and MSS SP-72. Series FSB 22 are approved by API 607 4th Edition Fire- Safe Test.

Body Material

  • ASTM CF8M, CF8, WCB
    (DIN 1.4408. 1.4308, 1.0619)

Pressure Rating

  • 2000 psi (138 bar) for ¼" - 2"
  • 1500 psi (103 bar) sizes above 2"
  • 150 psi (10 bar) with saturation steam

Temperature Range

  • -20°F to 350°F (-28°C to 176°C) with PTFE/RPTFE

End Connection

  • Female pipe thread to NPT, DIN259/2999, and BS standards

Fire-Safe Approved Design

  • The integral fire-safe lip is designed and manufactured precisely to fit the valve ball. With the fire-safe lip, valve is able to operate after the PTFE seat has been deteriorated in fire. With the floating ball design, the valve ball and the fire-safe lip come in contact with each other and establish a metal-to-metal seal.

KHD-FSB23 ball valve
3000 PSI (207 bar)
No mounting pad

These valves are without an ISO mounting interface.
This means that you need a bracket and drive dog to mount the actuator to the valve.

High pressure ball valve
¼" - 2" (DN8 ~ DN50)

Certifications

Standards

  • Valve body and end cap connections are high quality investment cast, and designed to meet ASME regulations. Heat treatment can be provided as well upon request: stainless steel material can be solution annealed, and carbon steel can be normalized. Valve stems are designed to follow ASME/ANSI specifications. All valves are factory tested to meet API 598 and MSS SP-72. Series FSB 23 are approved by API 607 4th Edition Fire-Safe Test.

Body Material

  • ASTM CF8M, WCB
    (DIN 1.4408, and1.0619)

Pressure Rating

  • 3000 psi (207 bar)

Temperature Range

  • -4°F to 176°F (-20°C to 80°C) with DELRIN® seat
  • -4°F to 464°F (-20°C to 240°C) with PEEK™ seat

End Connection

  • Female pipe thread to NPT, DIN259/2999, and BS standards

API 607 Fire-Safe Test Approved

  • Series FSB 23 fire-safe ball valves have been fire tested according to API 607 4th Edition, conforming to standards of limiting leakages in high temperature situations

Anti-Static Design

  • Anti-static device are standard equipments for Series FSB 23 fire safe ball valve. The device discharges static electricity build-up from the friction between the body, ball, and stem of the valve.

ISO 5211 Mounting Pad

  • The Series FSB 26 ball valves are constructed with ISO 5211-complied mounting pads, which provide possibilities of actuators.

Blowout-Proof Design

  • The stem is installed from the bottom-entry direction instead of top-bottom. This prevents stem to shoot out during unexpected accident, and further provides a safer valve using environment.
