Strainer – KFD-YSF

Strainers in various configurations help remove debris from your pipelines by directing the flow through a screen to remove contaminants; ideal for liquids, gases and even steam piping systems.

A Y type strainer is designed for mechanically removing unwanted solids using a straining element.
As its name implies, a Y type strainer has a compact, Y shaped design.
The Y shape has better flow characteristics then a T shaped strainer, because the fluid flows through the filter with less change of direction.
The filter can be accessed easily for cleaning or replacement by loosening and removing a plug at the end of the filter leg.
Y type strainers can be installed in a vertical or horizontal position.
They are used in pipelines to protect pumps, meters, control valves, steam traps, regulators and other process equipment.
